LL Cool J to Perform at NCAA Men’s Final Four

Have you been keeping track of the NCAA Men’s March Madness? Final Four is coming up and word has it that LL Cool J, rapper and actor, will be performing, along with a couple of other artists. The Final Four will be taking place between April 2nd through the 4th at downtown Indianapolis.

The free three-day concert will take place on Big Dance Sunday. The Goo Goo Dolls is also expected to be performing over the three days. The weekend will also feature interactive displays, free food and loads of entertainment. Other popular names that will be in the concert include Darius Rucker, The Stone Temple Pilot and Daughtrey.

“I’m really looking forward to performing at the White River State Park on April 4th during the NCAA Men’s Final Four weekend,” LL Cool J told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “The Final Four is one of the most highly attended tournaments in college sports & has some of the most passionate fans. They always have a great time & I’m thrilled to be a part of the excitement.”

Other places you can find LL Cool J these days is on CBS on the hit show called NCIS: Los Angeles. He is also looking to launch an artist-friendly website called Boomdizzle.com.

The NCAA Final Four weekend will be held a the White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis.

Akon Banned from Sri Lanka

On Monday, Akon was banned from Sri Lanka because of a music video he had. They found it to be very offensive towards Buddhists. Protests broke out after the video was released, which eventually lead to him getting banned.

Akon was scheduled to appear in Sri Lanka on April 24th, but those plans have been canceled of course. His access was denied by the country’s Director General of Information. He was going to perform in the SSC Stadium ground in Colombo. The concert was canceled due to protests from Buddhists about his video. The whole ordeal began about the sexy woman dancing around in the video. Apparently, she was dancing around a sacred Buddha statue.

“The government has taken into consideration the sensibilities of the Buddhists who have been offended by one of his videos which showed scantily clad women dancing in front of a Buddha statue,” Pelpita told AFP.

There was a group of 200 people that came together outside of Maharaja Broadcasting and began to throw rocks at the building, breaking windows. Four cars were damaged and four workers were injured.

It seems as though Akon just can’t seem to keep himself out of trouble. Before, he had trouble with dancing with an underage girl that was in a club (who shouldn’t have been there), then he got put on blast about the multiple wives thing and now this.

Diggy Simmons Signs with Atlantic Records; Fans Hatin’ on JoJo

It was announced that Diggy Simmons, Russel Simmon’s son, was signed to Atlantic Records as a rapper. There have been a lot of rumors and hate going around sites like Twitter that have been saying that the rapping gene must have skipped over JoJo, which is his older brother. You may know the Simmons family very well from their television show called “Run’s House”. Since the signing was announced, there have been tweets, saying things like “must feel like the rest of the Jacksons when Michael went solo”.

Jojo’s sister Angela Simmons came to his rescue, answering back to those who have been making comments on #jojomustfeellike (twitter) posts. She spoke to the fans on there, answering one question where someone asked who she was dating. She stated:

“I just want to take this time to speak to ya’ll for real about the rumors and stuff people are saying about me in the industry. I am single and I think that it is terrible that as a female I can’t hang out with my male friends without it being said that I am dating them. I have friends just like everyone else and I am not dating every guy that you see me hanging out with.”

Then when they asked her how she felt about her little brother Diggy getting a record deal and people laugng at Jojo not getting a record deal, she stated that people needed to stop traying to create a competition between her siblings; and that if one of them makes it, all of them made it. She went on to say, “Haters out there have nothing better to do with their life than talk about someone else, instead criticizing our life, why don’t yo try to get your own”.

Great defense on Angela’s part. What do you guys think about Jojo not getting a deal, but his little brother Diggy getting one?

P. Diddy is Going FIFA

It seems like P. Diddy just can’t keep his hands off of, well…everything. He has colognes, clothing lines, shows, jewelry and music artists under his belt. Now, he’s looking to acquire a soccer team. Yes, you read right; a soccer team. To be more specific, he has shown much interest in London’s historic soccer team called Crystal Palace. It was started in 1905, but has been having some money issues recently, caused by lack luster player performance. The team now faces being demoted to a lower sports bracket.

Reports show that P. Diddy had a meeting in London with football fixers a number of weeks ago. The finances have been reported as being in place, now he’s just contemplating on who he will make a bid for. Portsmouth was mentioned, but Diddy figured Palace would be a better idea. He said that he could cover the debt and plus, he liked the name.

There are a number of other English football clubs he’s also been looking into. At the end, Palace’s name won him over. P. Diddy is known for being worth well over $360 million, so he is more than able to take care of the debt that the team has accumulated. He stated that he is in the process of making a bid. This whole process of spending money and investing in something isn’t anything new to Diddy, who spent $500,000 at a single party in order to promote his new album called Last Train to Paris.

Update: Seems like those were just rumors. The administrator of Crystal Palace says, “There is no truth in it whatsoever, I wish,” said Brendan Guilfoyle. “I am a big hip-hop fan and I would be delighted if P. Diddy wanted to buy Crystal Palace.”
