Lawrence Fishburne’s Daughter is Doing Porn!

Okay, this may be one of the saddest stories I had to read thus far. Lawrence Fisburne’s daughter Montana Fisburne figured that there was a quicker and easier way to gain stardom rather than using the power of her father’s acting legacy…and that’s to do porn. She told TMZ, “I’ve watched how successful Kim Kardashian became and I think a lot of it was due to the release of her sex tape.”

So she has decided to take the footsteps of scandalous heiresses rather than her fathers, which is very sad. I can only wonder what the poor guy is thinking right now. She’s only 19, but she is considered grown in the United States, so there really isn’t much he can do, but to shun her. Usually women who didn’t have their fathers around or who had deadbeat fathers were known to become sex entertainers like strippers, prostitutes and pornstars, so this is a first.

The sad thing is, black women have never gotten far as a celebrity by using sex tapes and porn, including Superhead a.k.a. Karrine Steffans, Nicole Naraine (sex tape with Colin Farrell) and even Judy from Family Matters ended up getting into porn to pay her bills. All have sizzled away with the little fire they had burning. The only black person to gain rise out of a sex tape is Ray J, who now has a second reality show (though his music isn’t selling that will, but who cares!). Hopefully Montana will get a wakeup call and snap out of her delusion of instant gratification to stardom.

Trouble Always Finds Foxy Brown

Since 1997, female rapper Foxy Brown has been in front of the judge more times than a repeat felon. Well, maybe that’s a bit much, but she has seen the judge a little too much if you ask me. Foxy Brown has an anger management problem, as we all probably know by now. Back in ’97, she was arrested for spitting on two hotel workers that told her they didn’t have an iron. She received a 30-day suspended sentence and 80 hours of community service. Then in the beginning of 2000, she crashed her Range Rover and was arrested because she was operating a vehicle without a license.

In 2004, Foxy reportedly attacked two manicurists over a $20 bill. She plead not guilty and ended up with three years of probation and mandatory anger management therapy. You may remember the 2005 incident where Jacki-O told the media that she beat up Foxy Brown in a Miami Recording studio. Of course, Foxy denies this ever happened, but it could be true!

Then there’s Foxy Brown’s neighbor that called the cops on her because she hit her in the head with a Blackberry phone. She was sent away to jail for a year, 76 days out of that was in solitary because she got into a fight with an inmate.

Now, it’s 2010 and she is pleading not guilty once again. Her neighbor (yes, the same one) called the cops on her, claiming that after a dispute between the two, Foxy Brown mooned and yelled at her. If found guilty (since this is violation of probation and the neighbor has an order of protection against her), she could be sentenced to 7 years behind bars. Maybe she needs it because homegirl seriously needs to cool off.

Nelly to Perform at the Grand Opening of Palace Theater

We all know Nelly as being the rapper from the Mid-West, dropping hot tracks like “EI”, “Country Grammar” and “Hot in Here”. He has become one of the nation’s top rappers and that’s exactly why the Palace Theater in Branson has decided to use him for their grand opening. It is said that he will be performing there on August 21 (tickets will begin selling on July 12th). We haven’t heard a lot from him lately, but he is set to release an album this Fall.

“It’s important to Branson to get a spark. In the economic situation the world is in right now, people will pay for great entertainment,” said theater manager Paul Dunn.

What’s funny is Branson strip is a town that is used to having country, gospel and blue-grass concerts. So having a hip hop concert should be a bit interesting. Not sure how many of its town’s residents will show up, but there may be some out-of-towners who may swing by just to see Nelly.

“The shows are getting a little monotonous. They each have a comedian, they sing, they have female singers, they bring their kids on. It’s entertaining, but when each show is exactly alike, you need a little variety,” said Kimble.

“We are going to modernize our entertainment here. Branson has the best shows, but we are going to bring entertainers that are hot now, everywhere, even worldwide,” said Dunn.

Drake Cancels European Tour

Looks like Christina Aguilera isn’t the only one canceling tours these days. Rapper/singer Drake too has canceled his European tour, but for good reason. Word has it that he is having a family emergency and won’t be able to make it. Word has it that his mother needed surgery done, so he decided to stay back and be close to home.

“Despite my best hopes, it is apparent that my mother will need surgery earlier than anticipated. In light of this news, I have made the difficult decision to cancel my European tour in order to support her during her recovery, just as she supported me through the years,” Drake said in a statement. “I cannot thank my European fans enough and look forward to performing abroad soon. I ask everyone to please respect my family’s privacy during this time.”

So far he has canceled 10 dates on the European Run of the Home Away from Home tour. The tour began on July 2nd. He was set to appear in different areas of Europe, including London, Amsterdam and Paris – which are being rescheduled for November 2010. Those who already bought tickets will have them honored for the rescheduled dates. He is planning to get on the road and resume the tour on the 16th of July; his first stop being at Ottawa Bluesfest.

Jay-Z Tries to Bring Lebron James to the Nets

Word has it that hip hop mogul Jay-Z and the coach (Avery Johnson) and owner (Mikhail Prokhorov) of the New Jersey Nets basketball team is looking to swoon Lebron James to their team. They made a presentation with the intent to woo him into wanting to join them. The pitch lasted 90 minutes and consisted of a variety of other team officials.

Lebron James, a two-time NBA MVP, became a free agent at midnight on July 1st. There has been a lot of speculation regarding which team he will choose. Rumors have spread, saying that he is trying to team up with Dwayne Wade and Ray Allen on Miami Heat. Everyone has their views on where they would like to see Lebron James and other free agents end up this summer, but in the end it will all be up to free agents.

“Prokhorov left with a few members of the Nets’ entourage at 12:43 p.m. Lagging a few minutes behind them was Jay-Z , a close friend of James, who was sitting in the back seat of a black sedan leaving the garage as the Knicks’ motorcade – 2 sedans and 2 SUVs – pulled in,” the AP wrote.

There are some rumors that Jay-Z has a meeting with Lebron James and supposedly went well.

“I think it went well,” New York coach Mike D’Antoni told The Associated Press. “But obviously everyone that gets the chance to talk to him will probably say same the same thing.”
