After the announcement of Busta Rhymes joint deal with Google Music and Cash Money Records on November 2011, the rapper has opened up the opportunity to promote his music through a new and innovative platform that caters to a wide consumer base.
The rapper shared that the partnership opened more doors for the Hip Hop industry to share its music through the medium that has easy access to anyone and has the convenience that caters to a larger population.
Busta Rhymes said that, “The label situation is phenomenal. It’s a marriage that I feel is a genuine one, and it’s a deal that’s a first of its kind because we sat at the roundtable and created something that’s a one of one and it’s a first of its kind. It’s partnering up of Google and Cash Money together and being able to make a marriage and a merge in a support system that is unlike anything that’s ever existed in the history of music.”
Busta Rhymes also described how Google is combining its technology advancements with the desire to uplift the music industry as a whole. Google has transformed the media as a channel that contributes to the global audience and its development. As a result, Google focuses on creating different platforms that musicians can utilize in sharing their music.
Busta Rhymes also said that, “The Google thing… I think what makes the Google thing so incredible is that they realize how important it is for them to be a part of music.” He continues by indicating the importance artists are to the global industry, with Google spearheading this movement.
