Will and Jada Smith Squash Divorce Rumors

Fans of Will and Jada’s marriage can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the heartbreaking split rumors arose sometime last week. The two have finally made a public announcement stating that the rumors were absolutely false:

‘Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact.’

Will’s son from a prior marriage also spoke up by tweeting: ‘Did #WillandJada split? No they did NOT split! False information … it’s not true RETWEET!!!’

It’s definitely good news for everyone who’s been following and rooting for their marriage since they wedded in 1997. The two symbolize the African American marriage and give hope to many couples who are surrounded by high black female single rates and black children being raised without a father. Other couples that blacks have had high hopes with include Barack and Michelle Obama (though not mainstream enough) and Russell Simmons and his ex-wife Kimora. Of course there are others, but none pair up to the status of Will and Jada (i.e. T.I. and Tiny).

They have been doing a great job of staying together and staying out of the negative limelight, so not sure how this one even surfaced. Their parenting skills have also been under the limelight, given that their daughter Willow and son Jaden have been taking Hollywood by storm with films and music. Some feel that they may be too young for these industries and others feel that they are managing them quite well. Some think that Willow is too sassy, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Let’s just rejoice in the fact that they are all still a happy family and hopefully it stays that way ‘til death do them part.

Kelis and Nas Filing for Divorce

Wow, is it just me or did we all think that Kelis and the Hip Hop King would stay together for the long haul? I was pretty happy when the two hooked up and they seemed like a wholesome couple. They got married and everything was pretty silent. Then there were rumors that popped up about Kelis getting arrested for fighting with an undercover cop who was posing as a prostitute. There are multiple sides on this story, but supposedly the female cop was soliciting Nas and Kelis got upset. Then there’s another point of view saying that Kelis started the whole shabang.

Then more disturbing news sufaced from Nas’ ex-wife and baby mother who claimed that he and Kelis tried to get her to have a three-some with them. Now, that’s pretty disturbing. Now after things began to calm down again, we’re hit with divorce papers…where did we go wrong! Well, story has it that Nas found out about a sex tape that involves Kelis and another man — she says that this was “before” her and Nas got together, but he was still pretty upset about the whole thing and was embarassed. He began to treat her horribly and so she’s basically had enough of it. She spent a lot of time in Europe, where most of her fan base is, and she had a toast with a friend of her’s (Nas highly disapproved of her friend because everytime they got together they were at some party or getting into trouble) about the divorce and how she’s going to, “take him for everything’s he’s got”. Sounds like this will be a messy one. Oh…and I forgot to mention, she’s pregnant with Nas’ baby!
