50 Cent and Chelsea Handler, They Dated

January 27th, 2012 | By

As much as controversies surrounded the rapper 50 Cent and TV host Chelsea Handler, the host confirmed that she and the rapper had indeed been going out together for a few months.

Handler confirmed a leaked photo that showed her kissing the rapper’s cheeks. During an appearance on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM radio show, she spoke about the relationship. She said that they did date for a few months until R&B singer Ciara showed interest in the rapper.

50 Cent and Chelsea Handler

This was prompted during a scheduled appearance of Ciara on “Chelsea Lately”, where 50 Cent told Handler that Ciara had feelings for the rapper and wanted to reconcile. Handler did not take the communication lightly and she hasn’t spoken to 50 Cent since that incident.

The host of Chelsea Lately said that she was frustrated at 50 Cent when she shared that, “You’re telling me this girl wants to get back with you but she’s upset that you’re dating me? Is that what you’re saying… Whatever I called him was probably the worst thing you could say to a black person, short of calling him the N-word. Like I said… you’re a street person basically something along the lines of being a gangster. And it was really, really offensive and I hung up and I’ve never spoken to him again.”

The two had been secretive about their relationship, but Handler has shed some light on what happened between them. 50 Cent has been recovering from the incident where he was picking up on his music.

50 Cent Shows Support for Occupy Wall Street and Claims to Feed One Billion Children this Year

October 30th, 2011 | By

Fifty Cent recently released a statement declaring that he will no longer have a blind eye towards the inequalities that are happening in the world. He discusses how he will feed one billion children this year and will try to make changes. He also showed his distaste in the government and politicians who seem to not care about the people in the U.S. who are going without meals, and that all they care about are their money and getting into office. Here are some of the statements he made below:

“The world is so f***** up. People don’t seem to care anymore. People seem to have distanced themselves from other people’s problems, they have been programmed not to care! Politicians are corrupt…So many companies are corrupt and taking excessive profits in certain sectors…….and we keep allowing this s*** to happen. There are 1 billion plus people living in extreme poverty. You know what that is? You don’t know if your getting your next meal, no shelter, no medical. You have no chance of hustling your way out of it!
We have been programmed to not give a s*** about these people! Well I have woken up and Im not turning a blind eye anymore!”

He even went on to declare his support for the Occupy Wall Street movement. This was posted on his Facebook Street Kings page.

How f***ed up that we have evidence that the big Banks have been corrupt, yet our governments aren’t punishing those that have stolen from the pension funds. Our Politicians are puppets for whoever pays them into office. That’s how f***ed our system is. Their broken promises for change cant happen especially when the system is corrupt. And children who need a meal go without because our politicians won’t stop thinking of themselves long enough or how to win the next election, too look around them and see how bad it is. You aren’t helping Mr politician, things are getting worse here in the US, in Europe, Africa everywhere! Im f**kn angry that Children are dying everyday.

There’s hard working people out there who do give a s**t. Problem is those with the power – government and big business, want this system to keep going. Its suits them. I don’t want to do business with these f***ers anymore. Do you? if a company isn’t giving back, stop buying from them. Buy a pair of shoes from TOMS (who give another pair to someone in need), look for companies that aren’t paying lip service to community / charity. we are more powerful than the big business and politicians realize……we have the power to stop buying their products, banking with them. your dollar, that you worked hard for, does have power.together we can say – WAKE UP A-HOLES! The game is over.

- want to shout out to Occupy Wall Street groups around the world. You are waking up the world, including me. Please keep up the peaceful protest, you are making a difference.

Raekwon the Chef Drops New Movie; 50 Cent a Photographer?

September 24th, 2011 | By

It seems as though 50 Cent isn’t the only one who’s looking to feature in films. Raekwon the Chef from Wu-Tang will be dropping a flick that will have the same feel as “Boyz N The Hood”. It’s called “Cream” and will have be a semi-autobiographical movie. You can take a look at the video below to see Raekwon discussing his new movie.

Well, it seems as though 50 Cent is never satisfied with being in just one industry. He came out as a rapper, turned over to an actor/model and then entered into the vitamin water health industry. But he’s not finished trying new things. His latest project is photography. Last week, the rapper/actor/photographer hosted a private event in Manhattan for SMOOTH Magazine’s 10th anniversary. It has a “warrior princess” theme and he had 14 models that were shot over a four-day period (10-12 hour shifts) by Mr. Fifty himself. Some of the models included Krista Aynes, a couple of video vixens, Jennifer Williams (Basketball Wives) and a few women from the upcoming season of “Bad Girls Club”.

The celebrity list for the party included Tony Yayo, Omarion, Maino, Red Café and French Montana. You can check out the video below regarding his views on taking on photography as a new “thing”.

Copyright Infringement Case Against 50 Cent is Dropped

September 24th, 2011 | By

Earlier this week, 50 Cent won a copyright infringement case that alleged that involved his movie “Before I self Destruct”. Back in November of ’09, Shadrach Winstead, an author, filed a lawsuit against 50 Cent, stating that the rapper took the idea of his 2008 book, “The Preacher Son – But the Streets Turned Me Into a Gangster”, and used it for his album and movie.

Reed Smith was hired by Fifty to defend him on this case, which was filed in New Jersey. A few days ago, Newark, NJ federal court dismissed the copyright infringement case against the rapper. Reed Smith stated that they won the case since there were no substantial similarities between the themes and plot of the movie and book. Other than the fact that the main characters both grew up in the streets and led a life of crime, there were no other connections between the two.

Before I self Destruct

“With respect to the various specific phrases and lines which Winstead alleged that our client took from the book, we demonstrated that many were misquoted, manipulated or not in the movie at all and that, in any event, they were non-copyrightable short phrases or unpredictable expressions used in the ‘street’ such as ‘get the dope, cut the dope,’ a rep for Reed Smith and 50 Cent said in an interview.

“Lastly, we argued that the pendent State law claims Winstead asserted were preempted by the Copyright Act,” the rep explained. “Judge Chesler agreed on all points and dismissed the complaint in its entirety.”

50 Cent’s Beef with Interscope Records

August 12th, 2011 | By

If you’ve been wondering where 50 Cent has been with his new album, there is good reason to why his next album hasn’t dropped. It looks as though he’s been having a lot of beef with Interscope Records. Sounds a lot like what Young Buck has been going through with G-Unit, but we won’t call this Karma. Fifty has been posting tweets lately about his dismay with the major record label, like:

“Man I’m not releasing a album i can’t believe interscope is this f*cked up right now. I apologize to all my fans.” And “I will work with other artist on there projects but I will not put out another album. They dropped the ball with me one time to many.”

50 Cent

Not having a new rap album in stores hasn’t stopped 50 from making his dough though. Back in 2008, he made a whopping $150 million. And has been noted for raking in about $15 million a year. He can thank his vitamin water and signed artists for that. Surely you’ve seen Fifty Cent in countless movies on Netflix and in Blockbuster, so he’s been pretty busy with his acting career.

Young Buck shared a worse fate with G-Unit, getting kicked off the label back in 2008. Unlike Fifty, Buck isn’t rolling in cash, so is having a harder time bringing in money. He was simply sent back to the streets that he came from. Buck was also disappointed with Cashville Records and left that label.

Although Fifty has been waiting to “change the game” with his new album because of record label delays, he has kept his promise of helping other artists on their albums.
