Celebrities Spotted at All-Star Game

February 16th, 2010 | By

The All-Star game took place on Valentine’s Day at the Dallas, Texas stadium (the new and biggest basketball stadium with about 90,000 seats). The goal of this stadium was to be the biggest stadium that allows the most viewers per game. It was a great pick for the All-Star game this past weekend, which was filled to capacity. Among the thousands of fans were many popular celebrities. If you were watching the All-Star game, you may have seen some A-Listers like Gabrielle Union, hip hop artist Jay-Z, Jamie Foxx, Sean Diddy Combs and Spike Lee, among others. Even Kobe Bryant was sitting on the sidelines — he was supposed to be in the All-Star game, but he ended up getting his foot injured, during a prior game.

NBA All-Star Game 2010

Some of the All-Star players that made it include Lebron James, Jason Kidd, Dirk Norwitzki, Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade and Dwight Howard, among others. The West Coast was leading the game in the beginning, but the East soon caught up, tying them twice. During the fourth quarter, they were tied up. The last couple of seconds ticked by as they continued to foul one another, and finally the East Coast took the title. Dwayne Wade was granted MVP, with 28 points, 11 assists and 5 rebounds. Not bad at all. The All-Star game was the final event of a great All-Star weekend. On Friday, it was the celebrity game and Rookie vs. Sophomore game. Then on Saturday it was the slam dunk contest, three point contest, horse and two other challenges.

Are You Watching the NBA Playoffs?

April 29th, 2009 | By

Well…aren’t we all? Okay, maybe not all, but most of us are. In case you haven’t been following along, here is a quick overview of what’s been happening:

Basketball Pendant

So far, Cleveland destroyed Detroit, which is a bit odd since Detroit made the conference finals six years in a row. This year, they were sent home during the first round of the series. Now, we just have to sit and wonder if this city will ever re-establish their winning ways…

Atlanta vs. Miami, this is a tie with each winning 2 games in the series so far. Superstar D. Wade was injured last season, but now he is shining ever so brightly with his notable defense skills. He’s runner up for MVP and personally, I think he should win — not only because I’m a Floridian, but because he really deserves it. If you compare D Wade to Lebron James, you’ll take notice that Wade carries his team. Without Wade, the Heat wouldn’t have made it to the playoffs. Cleveland on the other hand can make it to the play offs without Lebron James.

On the other end, you find the Bulls giving the Celtics a run for their money and I don’t blame them! Last year the Celtics was last year’s champions at the playoffs. The bulls had a great advantage because of the Celtics’ star player, Kevin Garnett, being out on injury. Since Jordan left the scene, Chicago hasn’t really had any home name stars, but there is potential in Derrick Rose. He’s young and he’s hip…but will he live up to the hype?
