King Ice

Trae Tha Truth I had one of the first 3D pieces ever.

Trae Tha Truth is a Houston legend. With a mantra to continue to excel, grow, and get better with each passing day, the H-town MC gives back in ways beyond the music. His activism efforts in saving the community from the floods directly coincides with the realness he spits into his rhymes.

His projects offer a breath of fresh air into the hip-hop game, in this new age of social media antics and clout-chasing. Most recently, real name Frazier Thompson III unleashed a 12-track project titled Exhale, with no guest features. King Ice caught up with Trae Tha Truth at his album listening at Diamond on Fairfax.

What is the most expensive jewelry you’ve ever purchased?

I got so much jewelry, it don’t even make sense. I’m not really even into jewelry like that…

You got chains on chains!

Yeah but if I wore everything I had, it’d be a lot. Everything of mine costs. Everything’s real.

Can you describe your jewelry style?

Creative.

Most iconic hip-hop chain?

Probably some of the first ones. The Roots Aviators, I had one of the first 3D pieces ever. The Boondocks. The Trae face.

What do you want your legacy to be?

Whatever make my kids proud.
