Hey, what’s up guys.

I’m Joshua and today we’re gonna be talking about stone settings, and what you should be looking for in your jewelry to make sure you’re getting the most out of your purchase.

There is a lot to know about this subject but first I want to start off with a very important PSA. Do not buy any jewelry that has glue-set stones. Any stones, when set in this fashion will fall out quickly, and you’ll be forced to repurchase. This is the difference between fine jewelry and
costume jewelry. Pieces that house stones through a glue setting method, are going to look visibly worse in quality, and have an infinitely shorter lifetime than pieces with a meticulously hand done stone setting.

At king ice, our entire array of chains and pendants feature individually hand set stones. The metal on each piece is curated and sautered from the beginning of the design process, to hold in place and house stones, requiring no glue or any adhesives. This means you are getting an evenly layered aesthetic consisting of only metals and stones. High level craftsmanship is almost always something you’ll hear when referring to the finest end of products in the design space and for good reason. Hand setting improves the value, the brilliance of the finish, the durability and security, and the clarity of the stones as you won’t be able to see any of that washed out white color underneath from a glue setting.

It’s for these reasons that hand setting each of our stones, in all of our pieces, is incredibly important to us and something we highly encourage you to look for when buying jewelry at any price point.

Something else to look for, that we take into great consideration, is the cut of each stone we use. There are many different types of stone settings, from micro pave, to prong, to bezel, and channel. Each setting has different attributes that contribute to the aesthetic and the security of the piece. These differences include things such as the angle and size of the setting. In every piece that we custom design, our team looks at exactly how these settings might affect the quality and the appearance of the piece.

All of these factors, as well as our use of high reflectivity VVS diamond simulates, ensure each of our pieces are fitted with the most clear, brilliant, and stones available at a low cost to you.
