Rent Notorious B.I.G.'s Childhood Home For $4K/Month

Once called his "one-room shack," the Notorious B.I.G.'s childhood apartment in Brooklyn is now a three-bedroom condo.

      Why, hello there gentrification

Listed on COMPASS, the apartment on 226 St. James Place, now boasts three full bedrooms, a den/office space, an updated kitchen, and a dining room - inside the original building that has since been converted into a luxury condominium.

City Council member, Laurie Cumbo, recalls a time when this area of Brooklyn was "redlined." "People didn't want to live here, people moved out of the neighborhood, they had left us to die."

Unfortunately, a lot of New York City's neighborhoods are seeing changes that are only benefiting those who are coming into the city - with money. And forcing its natives outside of the very homes they grew up in.
