Bay Area Rap legend, E-40, announced that he plans to release a new studio album this year. “Practice Makes Paper” will be his 29th studio album, and will rightfully be comprised of 29 brand new records. Don’t let E-40’s age fool you, though. The 51 year old rapper knows what’s hitting these days, and enlisted a pool of talented young artists for his project. On “Chase The Money,” a cut off the project, E-40 calls on Quavo, Roddy Ricch, A$AP Ferg and ScHoolboy Q.
As an introduction to this upcoming project, E-40 unveils visuals for the CHASETHEMONEY produced lead single, as directed by Ben Griffin. For the veteran, it was important for him to take some responsibility: “I think a lot of people be for themselves. If something be working for them, for many years, and they ain’t never been one to spit the game as a mentor, they gon stay in their element.” He further breaks down the responsibilities he’s taken on as one of Hip Hop’s “elders,” in an interview on the MIC/LINE podcast series.
In the video, the artist collaborative gather around table, dressed in all black, to spit their respective verses. Transitioning scenes follow the action-packed plot of an organized heist.
