      News — Kanye West

Taylor Swift, Kylie Jenner & Kanye West Are Highest Paid Entertainers of 2019

Taylor Swift, Kylie Jenner & Kanye West Are Highest Paid Entertainers of 2019

Forbes just revealed their annual list of highest paid entertainers for 2019 with Taylor Swift surpassing all with $185M (USD) in gross earnings. Not too far behind, however, are Kylie Jenner ($170M) and her brother-in-law, Kanye West ($150M). For Ye, this is his first time appearing on the list since 2015, while Kylie moved up from third to second - compared to last year's $166.5M.

At just 21 years old, Kylie has amassed billions - making her the youngest self-made billionaire - with her cosmetic line. Last year, she inked a distribution deal with beauty retailer, Ulta, and sold roughly $55M in products in just SIX WEEKS!

For Kanye, the majority of his earnings have come from his partnership with Adidas - for his Yeezy line of sneakers. The terms of the deal includes a $15 per-shoe royalty on wholesale. Over the past 12 months, alone, 'Ye has earned an estimated $1 billion in sales.

Head over to Forbes to check out the full list, and see which of your favorite celebrities made the cut.

Yeezy’s For Basketball? Check Out the “Quantum” Sneaker!

Always wanted to play basketball in a pair of Yeezy’s?

Well, say hello to the YZY BSKTBL “Quantum” sneaker. Designed by adidas and Kanye West, himself, the high-top sneaker features a unique print graphic that’s lined with a hint of 3M stripes. The midsole is comprised of a semi-translucent material with additional ankle support - much needed for basketball.

However, the sneaker’s reflective features has caused the NBA to ban the sneaker from actually being worn on the courts - according to reports.

I mean, they are Yeezy’s after all so, we’re just going to assume most of you will cop a pair strictly for the fashion.

The adidas YEEZY “Quantum” is said to drop some time this Summer. Check out the early release images below and stay tuned in for more details.

Kanye West Name Drops Drake on “What Would Meek Do” Extended Snippet

Kanye West Name Drops Drake on “What Would Meek Do” Extended Snippet

If you recall, a snippet of a Pusha T track titled “What Would Meek Do?” leaked last month - which contained lyrics that took aim at J. Cole: “You heard Cole on that song, he was tryna hate,” rapped Kanye.

And now, apparently, Kanye also had some things to say about Drake on the record. You can hear the extended version of the record after it surfaced earlier today. “I be thinking, what would Tupac do? You be thinking what New Kids On The Block do? Drizzy wearing Yeezys on the low though .Only repping Nike for the promo. The company growing faster than Flo-Jo. And we did with no logo,” raps Ye.

The jab stems from Drake’s lyrics on Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” where he raps, “Checks over Stripes, that’s what we like.” Ye immediately put Drake and Travis on blast: “How you gone be on Trav’s song coming at me. Trav should have never allowed that.”

This wasn’t the first time Drake referenced Kanye’s association with Adidas, though. In September of 2019, Drake was also heard rapping, “Keeping it G, I told her don’t wear no 350s around me,” on his verse on French Montana’s “No Stylist.”

Forbes Reveals Top 5 Richest Rappers

With the recent announcement of his new status as Hip Hop’s first billionaire, its no surprise that Jay Z tops Forbes’ “Richest Rappers” list. But the competition is fierce amongst Hip Hop’s elite. In their annual list, Dr. Dre, Diddy, Kanye West and Drake join Hov as the cash kings.

      1. JAY-Z – $1 billion

      2. Dr. Dre – $800 million

      3. Diddy – $740 million

      4. Kanye West – $240 million

      5. Drake – $150 million

Here’s a breakdown of where all these millions come from for each of these artists.

JAY Z: $310 Million from his Armand de Brignac champagne deal

$220 Million for cash & investments in companies like Uber

      $100 million from D’usse Cognac

      $100 million from TIDAL.

      - to name a few.

DR. DRE: $500 Million from his Beats by Dr. Dre headphone line deal with Apple

DIDDY: $740 Million from his cable network, Revolt, Sean John clothing line, and Ciroc

KANYE: In addition to music sales & concerts, Ye’s partnership with addias has brought in millions as well.

DRAKE: The youngest on the list, Drake’s fortune is fueled by real estate investments, his Virginia Black whiskey, plus his tour and residency at XS Nightclub in Las Vegas.

      2019 Met Gala's Best Dressed.

      2019 Met Gala's Best Dressed.

All eyes were on the Met Gala last night as some of the biggest names in entertainment walked the prestigious event’s red carpet. As you know, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York city hosts this annual Gala that has become the exclusive glamorous affair it has evolved into. Each year, the Gala chooses a theme - for both its cocktail hour and formal dinner. And A-List celebrities come, ready to show off their best outfits. This year’s theme was “Camp” - an aesthetic style that regards something as appealing because of its bad taste, and ironic value.

Let’s delve into some of our favorite looks!

We had to kick this list off with none other than Cardi B, ofcourse.

It’s not a party until Cardi B pulls up.

The larger-than-life Rap star hit the Gala’s red carpet in a Thom Browne gown covered in red feathers that had everyone turning their heads. Last year, Cardi attended the Gala for the first time wearing Jeremy Scott who escorted her down the carpet. This year, Cardi had to attend solo since, well.. her dress took up too much space for a plus one. The custom floor-length gown with a train that was pretty much an entity of its own is at the top of our list.

Next up on our list is Serena Williams.

Only the co-chair of the 2019 Met Gala could pull off this stunning custom neon yellow strong-shouldered Versace gown with matching yellow sneakers from Virgil Abloh. Like icing on a cake, Serena paired her outfit with a diamond watch, emerald green rings and drop earrings by de Grisogono.

Watches are a great accessory. Looking to freeze up your wrist like Serena? Check out our White Gold LX Watch studded with AAA handset stones, plated in white gold.

Naomi Campbell also stirred up some red carpet conversations when she hit the red carpet accompanied by a man whose sole responsibility was to fan her as she walked. But it was her dress that truly stole the show. Campbell stunned in a caped pink feathered gown by Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli. Naomi also managed to ice up her wrist with some diamonds.

Stand-out pieces for your wrist can complete any look, like our White Gold CZ Studded Nail Bracelet lined with CZ stones.

Bella Hadid arrived to the Met Gala alone but she really didn’t need anyone else to help her shine. Dressed in a lavish black gown with jeweled cutouts, The Weeknd’s absence wasn’t missed too much. No offense to The Weeknd. His girl showed  out with cut-outs that showed off the flesh on her hips, and gloves that were covered in jewels.

Designer, Alexandra Mandelkorn, had gone through fifteen sketches before finalizing the design that would hit the red carpet on singer, Janelle Monae. The Picasso and Dali inspired dress incorporated elements of surrealism. She made sure Monae’s signature black and white aesthetic was still present while creating bold looks with the addition of the blinking eye and ridiculous pile of top hats that she wore on her head.

While Kim Kardashian came to slay the Gala red carpet in her beaded latex dress by Thierry Mugler, husband, Kanye West decided to wear a $40 Dickies jacket paired with his Yeezy desert boots, black chinos and a white tee. While some might question Ye’s inspiration or motives for his outfit, the couple  still managed to break necks.
