Derez De’Shon creates Pain music, exactly what he named his critically-acclaimed mixtape series after. Coming out of the Southside of Atlanta, Derez had to get it on his own and create his own lane and sound. Insert 2018’s “Hardaway,” which currently hails over 135 million views on Youtube and counting.

The song is an anthem for the streets, as with each subsequent release of his. Fast forward to 2020, fans are counting down the days until the release of Pain 3.

King Ice caught up with Derez via Instagram Live, who was living his best life on an island overseas.

What chains you got on?

This my bro who passed. I got Jurassic Park on the other.

Why do you like Jurassic Park?

Where we’re from, that’s what we call it: Jurassic Park. 

What part of Atlanta are you from?

I’m from Clayton County, the Southside. 

What other artists are from there?

From my part of the Southside: Waka Flocka Flame, Lil Keed. It’s a few, I’m not for sure. 2 Chainz is from the Southside too, but not on the side where we’re from. But it’s still the Southside.
